hmm sheesh...I need to be keeping track on this....For me I was thinking of Ergo Proxy to use. If not Ergo Proxy maybe My-Hime. if not those I will choose something that is beautiful footage. but I would like to stick with Ergo Proxy even though I dont have the whole anime series yet because the episodes are not all on dvd yet. so thats a bummer.... :? but still if I could find something good. I will.

EDIT: just now I managed to capture some sweet footage that I'd like to use in a short fun amv at some point. Aaand I'm starting to get a good idea of how I could fit it within the HGJ source...
Quoted in case you missed it before. :P

I thought I should mention:

Studio Members, AKA Jade_eyed_angel, SacredArrow, and Jencm have slight endge in getting their main selections in this, since well they are studio members ;p

So if you chose parts that they also chose, and there are other parts that interest you, you might want to let me know of those parts. I noticed 1 or 2 people had 2 of their main choices the same as theirs.

Track selections are almost complete. I have a 3 or so parts that I am still deciding on, but have a good idea who I'm gonna put there.

Also because I am evil, but mainly because I want best quality parts for this project, I will be implementing a system to where those who didn't get in can still. View it something like an IC. You can challenge a part you didn't get and make a video to it also, then me and the rest of the project can vote to use yours instead.
This will be a team thing, and although this may make some people scared of loosing their work, I think the added Competition will encourage to produce better quality work than if you are sitting comfortable on a guaranteed track ;p I will have final veto power however, if I like the first track better enough, I can opt to keep it in regardless to the vote. It is my project after all ;p

I want this to be a fun experience for everyone involved.

If your part doesn't make it in after you edit it, I will be including an Outtakes or Extras on the DVD, and possibly a separate release encode for any that are made that don't make it in the main project. Details on this are still being worked out.

If anyone has objections to this idea, or ideas to make it more fair, better, more fun, or whatever, speak out now before I make the official rules.

Then what is the point in voting? -_-
Maybe you should only start the vote if you yourself can't decide...

Awww sad, I missed the deadline for this ;_;

Here's a suggestion though...

I think you shouldn't use any sources from the last ayumix in this one. Otherwise it might risk looking too similar :o

You would think a glance at VCAs would tell you that popular vote isn't really the way to select the best. Especially if you take the idea to a MEP. One thing that should strongly be considered is how well it fits together as a whole and since most editors wouldn't see everyones betas the voters couldn't decide. Only you'd have enough info to decide that. Think of it this way; would you mix WoTB, Euphoria, and NTB into the same MEP just because technically they're the best edited for that particular part?

I too would suggest that you yourself make the choices, unless maybe both tracks are awesome and you need a tiebreaker. Remember Animasia, where we pretty much voted on everything as a group? Yeah, you know how long that took. It was pretty inefficient, since most if not all of the voting results were the same as what the project coordinator would've done anyway. >__>

Voting makes a decision seem more fair, but I don't think most people would mind you making the call as long as you go about it reasonably. :P

I sent this to you as a pm, but I'll post what I said to you on this thread as well.

Here's my take on the idea of a competition for tracks (and I know a lot of people may not agree with me). On paper, the idea of having competition to encourage better work seems like a good idea. At the same time, it may actually cause undue stress on those editors who were initially selected, because of fear that all their hard work will not get into the main project. Although we would all like to see an awesome end product, this project (as with all MEPs) are above all meant to provide enjoyment to those who are editing for it, and adding the aura of competition may, in my opinion, undermind that enjoyment.

Here's a idea that I've been tinkering with, which is actually more of an addition to your idea: Those editors that get initially selected for the project, should stay in their positions (unless they drop out or have to be dropped for some reason). For those that signed up, but did not get into the project, they should still be allowed to edit a segment. Their completed segment, if it is good enough, will be included on the DVD release. Also, these editors should be allowed to release their segments independently to the AMV community. However, the release of these "independent" segments should occur only after the "main" project is released (perhaps one or two weeks after). I don't know if this idea will work...but there it is. :)

Ultimately (as others have mentioned), since you are the project head, it's really up to you what will happen.

on that competition idea, instead of picking people and then making it a competition, how about making it a competition from the start? and save the effort of picking right now

iono, just throwing that out there
