I build model rockets. Nothing big or anything. Just start out with a long cylindrical tube. Like from paper towel rolls. I used to have pictures of some of the launches me and my friends did but they were lost from HD deaths. I'll take some more from our next launch when and if we do another >_>. We both have jobs and a life now.

Don't get me wrong, you shouldn't build your own to start out. Buy a rocket set and learn to make them from boxes with precut parts and stuff first.

Tip: Don't launch a newly built rocket with a C engine first >_>... Use A so you can see how it flies. Having it do flips and fly all over the place with 4x as much power is a bad idea.

I learned this from a sidewinder missle replica I built. Thing did like 5 flips and flew at a school playground where kids were playing. (BAD IDEA) We used a C engine cause we just wanted to see if we could lose sight of it in the sky. (We had no intention of recovering it.) If you use a C engine and there is much more then 5mph wind, most likely you will lose your rocket. Especially if the parachute deploys early and doesn't have any holes in it to increase decent.

Not that anyone cares about that stuff >_>. Me and my friend have fun with test launches tho. Never know what a rocket will do.
"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson

I used to do that when I was...oh jeez, I almost said "young." :( I will never, ever EVER forget the smell model rockets going off.

My something people wouldn't normally know unless I told them: that I'm into anime and, worse, AMVs.

But we're supposed to stay off topic in this forum, right? OK, so...hmm...to mimic the original poster here's a health issue: I have hypothyroidism. Not the "I weigh 300lbs and can't do anything about it" kind (yet), just the kind where, unless my thyroid is getting some prescription assistance every day, I have terrible muscle pain, am sometimes too exhausted to walk up a flight of stairs, want to nap all the time, suffer moderate memory loss (ever go to get in your car and been unable to remember which side is the driver's side? Yah, I have) and cannot - no matter what I eat and how much I exercise - lose one ounce. WHY my thyroid began shutting down when I was only 27 is beyond me (and my doctors). When I DO tell people I have this health problem, the women in the bunch inevitably go "oooo I wish I had that so I could lose weight [by taking medication]." No, it's not a cure-all for weight issues, argghh!! It's bad enough trying to watch what one eats and exercise when you know if you do x then y will happen. Try it when y doesn't happen - and in fact goes in reverse - even when you're being good! Is it that candy bar I had or is it my thyroid making my jeans a little too tight? I never know!
So yah, anyone with hypothyroid-like symptoms I really encourage to get tested - it's just a simple blood test. People go for decades feeling completely horrible without diagnosing the problem and it's really quite unnecessary when such a basic solution is available.

Too many things about me come to my mind, so I'll start with the useless ones:

My thumbs are double-jointed. Actually, it's more of my left thumb. My right thumb can sort of do it...

When I was 2 1/2, I got a kidney stone. I was on medication (nasty stuff, too) for 10 years.

I built and flew model rockets too. I still have a bunch of rockets and engines. Haven't done much since my kids grew up.

Things you don't want to know. I'm a pack rat type. I have magazines back to the 50's and 60's. There is the big box of electronic parts that I had in high school, darn, thats 38 years ago, wonder what's in there. Vacuum tubes, ect. I have over 1000 books, a bunch of vinyl records. my first computer. So many memories. Such a big pile of _______.

Also, I watch anime at work, during coffee breaks. We're watching Outlaw Star right now, one episode fits a coffee break.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

I have a really slight OCD issue, and it mainly has to do with putting things in order. The funny thing is, I can let it go out of order when its my own stuff, but if I'm at Best Buy and I notice a DVD out of order, I have to fix it. Another thing that absolutely grates on my nerves is people with hanging calendars on the wrong month. I have to fix it for them or else I feel really uncomfortable. o_o

I have had some form of facial hair since around sophmore year. Mostly just a goatee, but around a year and a half ago I started growing my full beard. I finally tried shaving it ALL off around 3-4 weeks ago, and I looked like I was 12...

I live with 2 other AMV editors :O And they rock. ............. the world... (or "in face")

I am hopelessly addicted to poker (No Limit Texas Hold 'Em specifically). It's one of my favorite activities to do at a con (or anywhere where friends have gathered)

I love playing drinking games, even though I didn't even really "start" drinking until I was 22 (24 now). But only amongst close friends. Especially Kevin, because his laugh is probably the funniest thing ever. My favorite is definitely Circle of Death (or California Kings, or Kings, or whatever other name it has regionally). Flippy Cup is a close second.

I have never seen a single episode of Dragonball/Z/GT, yet I could still summarize the plot and tell you who most of the main characters are, based off of being an anime fan, being an AMV fan, and having friends who are into it.

Although I consider myself a big fan of video games, I am usually not very good at them. The only kind of games I tend to excel at are rhythm games (DDR, Beatmania, etc.)

I like several shoujo anime :o

I am by far a music fan before I am an anime fan. Music has been and will likely continue to be one of my biggest passions. I absolutely love sharing music with friends. My two favorite bands are Sigur Ros and Radiohead.

My favorite series of novels is the Ender's Game series. I've read the whole series all throughout twice, and the first book around 7-8 times.

Then why do most of the songs in the RoS projects suck so horribly?
