That not going out of my way just to break the so called "copyright laws" as it's the only way to work on my hobby. I meant that I’m not going out of my way just to screw then out of money.trythil wrote: When was the last AMV you made with ripped DVD footage?
I think the problems stem from the fact that we are all human and share the same qualities. In respect, we are all greedy (we all demand our luxuries and toys) and it's no different for the people who run the MPAA/RIAA, it’s just they happen to have bigger luxuries and toys.
I don’t disagree that laws should make since and be balanced, but it's a double edge sword as the corporations want to sponge all the money from us and in a lot of times they exhibit unethical or even "criminal" like methodology. Both then again, there are those consumers that just copy everything and don't bother to pay a cent and that's immoral and "criminal" on their part. So as long as we are human, laws will never be truly balanced
In terms of AMVs, I don't see then in any of the above categories. Do they break the "law"... well in a black and white world "Yes", but then again every human on this planet breaks laws and that does not make us immoral, criminals.
SO in the end, I'll just keep doing my hobby of making AMVs regardless as there will always be a way of making them.
Anyway, I think it's a silly proposition and not even practical... that's my bottom line and I'll stick with it.
