We've already had several mail-ins with the dual-layers, IIRC.VegettoEX wrote: That's still one "compilation," though. The capacity of a T120 S/VHS and a single-layer DVD, for the purpose of what's being done, is essentially the same (approximately two hours).
What needs to be compiled and mastered for a dual-layer DVD is completely different than what needs to be compiled and mastered for a single-layer DVD. You're talking two different final versions that will need to be created and tested on the AWA side of things. It's irrelevant for us sending stuff in, except for the issues with possible errors on the mastering side... but it just sounds like needless work that could be done away with by not even bothering with dual-layer blanks, which (it sounds like) no-one's going to (be able to) send, anyway.
There are a couple of reasons we wanted to try dual-layers, but I'd have to haul Wayne in here to give the correct details. (Everyone be glad that I know what I don't know and know how to delegate.) I believe it was partially in response to people complaining about quality issues in the mass-produced judging tapes.
