I've had sufficent experiance in moderating anime comunities online to understand the percentage of posers. A lot of people lie online. In one place, we moderators could see user names, but general users saw only character names. We lurked, watching two people talking about lesbian type stuff, how they chatten in JUST panties, and eventually slipped off to private messages for Cyber sex. (I hate it when chats get used for text based sex ) What nither knew was that we were all laughing behind their backs on AOL, see, we say the usernames 'Greg-kun' and 'Mr.Glitchy', they didn't. So, of course we told them, and both boys were very embarased and horrifed.

I could cite countless other examples, mostly people lieing about gender, some saying they're japanese when their not. Once even, a 16yo kid from the Canadian Yukon claiming he was 23, in Japan, and a kungfu master. (IP trace, yummy.)

Belive me, many people in anime communities are posers. Lots, and lots, and lots.

Then, *and I mean this non-offensively* what the heck are you doing playing around on a forum? I mean it's places like this and Clara's and others; where people prefer the anonymity of the internet. Do you go into chats and do this too? I mean for all we know, you could be the shyest person ever, who never states her opinion and prefers to remain a wall flower in real life. If people can feel better about themselves by remaining anonymous so be it. It's not up to you to judge them.

I realize this'll probably just annoy you or something ^above fact. But I felt it had to said, from shit-kicker-upper to let-it-rest-in-peace.

Anonymity is different from posing, omitting details is nothing, creating false ones just helps to create a place where nothing can be trusted.

I gave up on chats, they shattered my faith in the internet over a span of two years.

Those situations are completly different, one is simply lieing, the other is medicaly documented and recognised federally as a disability and is ligitimated thusly.
