At first I thought it was too static, and that it couldn't get even close to the aluminum classic. I also thought that the effects weren't executed very well. That was at Connichi, after rewatching it now I think that I was completely wrong with most of these points. Not as in that this video would be better than I thought, but instead the problem isn't the stuff that seems to be the problem at first.

I think it's the scene selection. Everytime it's your sole concept, like in the beginning, in the credits or in the middle when there's no anime face but instead a shot of some pills or an x-ray etc the video suddenly gains more depth and it actually feels right.

All of the old NGE, Elfen Lied, Cowboy Bebop etc footage just doesn't seem to go along with your idea. Most of the viewers already know what those scenes are, they've seen them before and thus can hardly make the connection to your own video concept. Most of the anime scenes are also very clear face shots or very popular scenes from classic or rather popular new-age animes. So the entire distorted, old and disturbing style doesn't find it's way into my brain simply because the scenes lack the power to deliever your message.

I think that's why I really don't like this video, not because it's too pretentious or because of something technical.

p.s. Make more videos like Never Giving Up, cause that shit even makes it into my top 10 fav AMVs. ;>

Alright. I shouldn´t have pushed it back so far. Now I have much much more to answer. Here I go!

@Zet, NightlHlawk, Guy, Kev, Otohiko, Ishbalan, Code, Zenkia, Falcon, Will91Ber, blabbler, Fizziks, LeapofFate, Sayedee, darkmedium, Megamom, Neverend, Shui, -BL-, ~MimS~, Vivaldi, Niwa,... and I everybody I forgot!

Thank you very much for your input. I really apprecite comments on the vid.

@Warheart:
Hm, I actually watched the whole video I didn't expect that to happen when I first noticed what the song was. But I somehow felt as if the whole video was a bit repetetive, the music and the video itself are both a little bit repetitive. I thought there was flow but with that song everything was a little bit to slow so there was no real supense building up because the song never changes pace so does the video.
I understand what you mean. Did you know the the original song is about 6 minutes long and doesn´t bring up new aspects to the melody or song? heh.
It was quite a surprise when I edited and edited and wondered why the part was that long. Than I realized that I edited to the old song mix. This "mix" is made like the version of the orginal music video. I took the stream from the music video and cut the cd rip down to have a copy in high quality of the shortened mix.
I´m sometimes in this monotone songs like Skinny Puppy´s song Assimilate.
The effects fitted and keeping the visual impression constant wasn't a bad idea it contributes to the videos atmosphere and resembels the monotony of the song pretty good. The best thing however is that useing the same colorscheme and effects all the time made the blending of the various anime pretty easy and thus it really worked pretty good I guess.

I´m glad to hear it.

@Phantasmagoriat:
It would have left more of an impact if I hadn't heard the song before
Maybe it helps to like the vid. I mean if you already heard a song it´s not that long if you hear it more often.
While watching, I treated each scene like a different experiment, and found myself thinking of what the doctors would record in their journals, like

case#: 170894
test subject: Z5l
code name: elfled
unique properties...
subject history...
observations... etc...
I thought about such notes on the film, but than I thought that I won´t see such things on a real report. Yeah I also got somehow no ideas on how to display good text. You know I thought about stuff like "subject 2 lost" etc. but I got the feeling that it somehow missleads a fewer due to my lack of ideas. Sounds strange because it´s already missleading enough at it is.
so I think text on the screen would have helped your ideas come through more. The way it is now, it's easy to miss that connection between the scenes, and could be mistaken for nothing more than random creepy scenes from anime... which still works lol
I don´t want to say how people should interpret my videos as long as they don´t think bullshit. I just wrote down in the comments how I meant the vid.

@blabber:
that was neat-o, the snippets of live footage were creepy and really well chosen. and those gits and eva scenes fit so well together o.O
This weekend I saw a documentation about mind control and the "MK-Ultra" project (please consult wikipedia if you want to hear more). I was quite dissapointed when I saw the possible awsome video footage and theme. It would have fit so good! On the other hand it was scary to watch. The MK-Ultra project was a bit about finding the perfect killer machine.

@Funky:
The concept was kinda interesting, and the visuals connected well with the sound. The whole theme got a little repetitive after a while, but since the sync style was rather unusual it kept my interest.
Nice to hear :)

@Tono_Fyr:
The concept is... I honestly have to say that the concept's pretty stupid. I mean, logically, I can see it. It's about sex robots. But come on.
[...]Sex robots
Well the sex object stuff was just a part of the theme. Overall the project was searching for the perfect human. A sex object is just a part of it.
And as far as the editing goes, it's slow. Really slow. Someone was calling it art earlier. I call that a cop out. This video is a lot like a mediocre video from the early 2000s with a few more static layers of effects placed on top of it.
and that´s how I wanted it to be: slow and not like today´s popular editing. One of my best friends said that he misses some ignorance in editors to just skip beats and not blindly following beat schemas with sync. Oh well he doesn´t like my vid here at all :lol:

Nobody is supposed to like this vid. So such comments/thoughts are fine. Don´t think that I didn´t waited for such comments ;)
Saydee wrote:So I see this is one of these "love it or hate it" - videos.
Sums it up :)

@Knowname:
I should watch Alu's Closer or Ermac's Closer to God. This didn't remind me AT ALL of them, it's a totally different concept!!
I didn´t saw Ermac´s vid when I looked for videos with the song when I started to plan the project. Alu´s vid indeed inspired me for some stuff, but the original video also did it and I think that the original vid definatly inspired his video too. I would like to hear what Alu thinks about my interpretation of the song :)

The rest of the comment is nice to read. ^^

@Eva-Fan:
The idea was unique and theme original but I couldn't get into it.

I like horror and stuff like this usually but for some reason this video just didn't fit the bill. It might have been the weird pacing or the fx or scenes tbh I dont know. I just didnt like it overall sorry dude. It was a good attempt at being creative though. Don't let others or me get ya down though.
5/10 Keep up the creativity yo.
It´s alright.
Don't hesitate to do more creative stuff like this. It's experimental, you might end up making something really unique/enjoyable one day.
I think it´s a matter on how much I step to use more popular themes and stuff. This video here is just the stuff that I enjoy the most to create. I really might end up this way with one vid. Let´s see... I doubt that my project right now will be the one.

@devilmaykickass
Was the boredom the offending part?
Yes and I only made it for you. I dislike such comments :?

@Autraya:
i'm not sure i'm ready for another trip inside your head Razz
I don´t think so. Seriously xD
It´s not like I´m a sick head or something. I have many aspects and I can also be social, funny etc. :P
As said: I just enjoy this stuff when I make amvs.

I just didn´t had the feeling to watch animes to find some scenes. Originaly there was more live action in it, but I droped it for various reasons. Your somehow right. There was even a scene of Excel Saga in it. Jannis said that I should drop if because of reasons you wrote here and I obviously droped it.
This is/was some new aspect that I didn´t really cared much or thought about it. Of course the vid could be much more interessting with fresh scenes.

p.s. Make more videos like Never Giving Up, cause that shit even makes it into my top 10 fav AMVs. ;>
Let´s see. Let me at least finish the next one and I´ll see. Actually I still need to do my idea with the Desert Punk anime :)

Everbody: Thanks again for your comments. I apprecite it!

I can't believe I hadn't watched this until today..

I'll disagree with many of the comments here, I found this so fucking incredible on so many levels.

I really don't feel like saying more on it, I might leave an opinion at some point.. I'm going to be rewatching this one a lot anyway =)
