About using other people's footage

I only use "what if" and questions a lot to be safe. It's just a rethorical device. I'm not really asking questions at all.

a screw up on my part actually... in one of the transformation sequences where I didnt want to have to completely re-edit the whole sequence again cause my cat stepped on the off switch on my power strip.. (I happened to have a beta clip saved, just re-inserted it back into the video)

then I got lazy and didnt care if it blipped... or that the quality dropped for a few seconds.

The blip is identical in hers, but I settled things with that AMV editorer, and have come to the conclusion of "ah well, atleast she made her own edits and only took the footage" she re-arranged my clips even so that they were in different places in the song, and also made sure not to take my effects, I wouldnt have known cept for that mess-up and I think one edit... but the mess-up was actually what nailed it.

I knew that someone ripped one of my AMVs completely off once, not just by the effects and sequence, but because they left a shot of my end credits picture in it. -_-

Just to fill people in on the reason I made this topic...

Notice how I never mentioned "anime music" video in the first post? That is because I was not referring to "anime music" video, I was more referring to animated videos made by animation studios.

The fact that there are people out there who would be angry at the (credited) use of their footage, and there are people who would contact the authorities (i.e. the admins) is just sad. If even one animation studio felt the same way, this website would not have 24 hours left standing.

As for "stealing the entire video"... we steal the entire song from recording artists! I realize that it is different, but a "ban their ass from this site" attitude is hypocritical.

i personally wouldn't care if some-else uses the video in any of my AMV's(not that i made any....) cause its all the same anime, just different makers/editors. Whats the point about tring to say "this is mine..." ITS all the SAME anime.....

what if they cut a sence with no effects and none of your work it was just like the origanal video?
