Well, what can I say? I know you've heard probably every possible bit of criticism or advice from me over the years :p I have to say though that it turned out fantastic, and the credits look really good as well. My only complaint is that there isn't a Konataface in the announcement >______> And also, that I shopped this in 2007 in preparation for this thread. It's been sitting on my HD since then :3 Love ya buddy, good job.

I think this is the only video I've seen that I'll be keeping the beta because it was so good and deleting the final video because it was not.

I'm actually somewhat peeved to hear that coming from you Godix. I'd like to hear your reasoning behind that later if you don't mind.

It's because I'm an idiot. I grabbed the breakdown instead of the video and didn't notice the problem. So I was like "What is this multi-panel shit? Where did this crappy ass music come from? What's with the fucking flowchart? This sucks warm jizz through a short straw. I want the nice simple appearance of the beta, dammit!'

Now that I realized the mistake and grabbed the actual video, it's good. Builds up a mood instead of doing gore splatter like many vids try. Still has everything I liked about the beta. It's too short and seemed to build up to, well, nothing really. But overall I like the atmosphere and withdraw my comments about the beta being better.

Haha that'd explain a lot, you're getting old Godix. I'm glad that got cleared up and that you enjoyed it. I deliberately kept the video open to leave the events open to interpretation. Though I can understand how that would put some people off.

Congrats Niotex for completing your video. From your comments, it looks like this vid took you quite a long time. Anyways, I also checked out your Breakdown and it looks like a lot of layers to work with.

I enjoyed your vids and liked that it was short too. It's a good way for us to want more and look forward for your future work.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it. As for future work, I don't know about that as of yet. But we'll see what will come up. Lets just hope that if something does come up, that it's not going to take a few years.

I remember seeing the beta once 2 years ago at AnimeCon2009. You refused to show me the final 8 month ago (what made me very very sad ) but I still had 2 shots from 2009 in mind so i guess it really impressed me back then.

Like other ppl said its to short and leads nowhere. That being said i really enjoyed it. Audio and video fit each other and give a highly interesting picture. In a world where most MEPs have more creativity and work in their credits than in the tracks you found impressive solution for the credits in this video - i really liked that idea BUT for a 1:10 AMV those credits felt way to long.

Anyway glad i finally could watch it again. You did a great job on this but you also could have been faster with finishing it!

I recall the version I showed at AnimeCon2009, it's been quite leap since then though. I understand that the credits were probably pushing it a bit but I tried to get away with it regardless. Glad to see you enjoyed it though, and yes it could have been done faster.

It's just that being burned out on a project wears you out. Especially if said project is all people associate you in the community.

Personally, I never knew anything about Eidolon except that it was something you were working on over a long span of time. I associate you with something a little different, actually.

No comments (yet) for the video, since I haven't downloaded it. I may not have any, to be honest, since I can't edit effects for shit and therefore feel that I have very little business critiquing them, but we'll see.

I never saw a beta Nio, or heard anything about it. I just felt like the video was gonna be longer is all. Was still cool, I just expected more I guess.

While the video is unconventionally short and odd I can see how people could come in with different expectations. I'm glad you still seemed to enjoy it though.

I just saw the making of, and I gotta say this is probably the most technical amv of 2010 if it was uploaded in that year.

Glad to see people like it. As for the most technical video etc.. Maybe not really concerned about that though.

Saw the beta long long time ago, and it was cool, the changes you did are good and i love it. Ok its really short, but i knew it will. The Breakdown was interessting, and after all it was more like Ô_Ô so great job... Hope there will be sometimes another new video from you.

well.

I remember being really excited for this after seeing the small beta at AX2010 and to be honest, I feel that it's more of a composition demo than an amv. Maybe that's why it didn't get into AX since it's not long enough to be an "amv".

I think part of the charm of effects in amvs is that you "know" they're either added or fake, but you did your job a little too well. I suffered this problem back in 2003 with The Haunted Ship. I remember the first thing MJ and BigDave told me after the Akon 2003 contest was that I should have made things look more fake so people would know there are 2 different series clashing together. Not saying that you should work less on your effects, but most people who haven't seen your sources won't even know if it was edited or not.

It's a great composition piece, but not so much of an amv. At least you'll have an easy time getting gigs for video work.
