Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Some replies for you all...

Aww thanks, but ya gotta cheer up emo kid :P Glad you enjoyed it :)
Willen wrote:The video is great. I'm a fan of CotS/BotS so it's nice seeing a video using the series. I love the mood and flow in this video.

I think people's issues with the picture stems from the odd resolution of the video. 712x350 isn't 16:9 (it's about 16:8), not to mention it isn't a mod16 resolution. I see a bit of stretching or squashing on certain scenes or images (look for moon, sun or planet shots). Sometimes if I force the video to 16:9 AR in Media Player Classic the scene looks OK, then it doesn't. Yeah, this is me being nit-picky. I do it quite often for videos that I really like.

3.5/5
Yeah I'm still not entirely sure what happened with my funky cropping and AR issues, but at least now I know what to do in the future! Thanks for your input, Willen :D
JaddziaDax wrote:it was pretty
XD Thanks Jaddzia, I like pretty.
LantisEscudo wrote:This was, quite simply, gorgeous. Every effect was well-placed, the pacing was excellent, and the entire video just flowed, start to finish.

Barring the little glitch with that mask that others have mentioned and the AR quibbles, I really don't have anything to say on the downside. An easy 5.

Thanks, Lantis. It's definitely nice to hear the thoughts of other Seikai video editors. I appreciate the comments :)

Well done young one. You've improved allot on your basic editing as well as FX potential. Blabla bla Enough of the official bullshit.

You did a great job but you still lack some stuff here and there. Nothing you cant fix or take into account for future video's ofcource. To start things off I think a couple of people already stated the aspect ratio. Not something to worry about. Since I recently found out I couldn't even rip dvd's properly anymore. Thats right I forgot some little facts for aspect ratio... Crying or Very sad Anyway My main "problem" is the masking and the portions of white edges that you fades. Its ofcource better then having masks that stand out with their own bg's but still. The amount of white made them stand out too much in my opinion. Ones again this might have purely bin what you wanted to go for. A small other thing... Bars... But your in VNS so that requires bars by default so your in the clear on that.

Good job Reigna,

XD Reading that made me smile. I see where you're coming from with perhaps too much glow on the masks, and I just might have to try your idea out in the future. Thanks a lot for the criticism :D
shinodude wrote:I loved it the song was meh at first but as the amv progressed I loved the song and the editing was really nice as well and nice choice of effects
The song can be pretty addicting, you should definitely check out the rest of Mae's music. Glad you enjoyed the video :)

Someone really ought to put them on a 12-step program or something. :/
VNS ftw

Thanks, glad you liked it!
KnX wrote:well it was a really sweat vid
I mean it had great atmosphere some fx which looked pretty cool
it had a nice lyric sync and stuff but at some moments I didn't feel the sync
I mean scenes appear without beats
I mean the piano keys start after the showing of the picture I really dislike this
I mean if u don't want to sync them u can put a longer fade

and I really dislike the feathered stroke effect on the heroes I mean I prefer a normal mask without borders

actually these are personal issues so don't read them XD

great job and a really cool vid
keep it up ^^
Thanks for all of your comments, KnX. Oh and thanks a lot for the opinion you left as well :D
Coffee 54 wrote:Hey cool, I missed this one last week. I'm glad I caught it before this thread disappeared into the sea of other announcements past. I liked this vid quite a bit. It made a good video to wrap up my long, long, day by.
You win for being the first one to use Seikai no Senki III on this site. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Warheart wrote:Hm, I'm sorry to say this but the video didn't give me much since I found it to be rather dull and boring which might be due to the fact I still haven't seen the animes used. I have to admit though that the technical aspects of the video were convincing I guess I just can't relate to the sources you used.
It's all good, this isn't really everyone's type of video. Thanks a lot for giving it a look though :)
SSJTomato wrote:man, it feel like forever since i've seen Banner of the Stars. Great Vid. A few stretched mask effects but still great.
Maybe you should go and watch the series again :P And thanks for the comments!

Thanks everyone for all the feedback!
