When are you gonna be on AIM Joykiller? I am gonna try to go on tonight and ask you a couple of questions with this new plug in. I can tell my video's getting better though. My editing and creativity are boosting, lol. I'll see if you're on later.

I would make a video to something I liked no matter what someone said. I'm just stating that this IS the reason why no one wants to watch it.Joykiller wrote:Ok look... I love to flame the shit out of a Linkinball Z video just as much as anyone else, and have many times before. But for some reason that just REALLY struck me wrong. I'm actually going to have to make a serious post now, thanks alot!shishlik wrote:lol
but i am making a new AMV with a not too familiar song
so i guess it wount happen again
p.s.
is blink o.k?(not that im making an AMV for any song of theirs but im just wondering![]()
I don't give a shit if there are 10 million AMVs done to linkin park and dragonball. All that means is that it's a retardedly popular thing for people to make. But reguardless of that, I wouldn't listen to ANYONE telling me that I *shouldn't* make a video done to a song that I like and an anime that I like. It's not your fault that everyone and their mother feels it nessesary to make videos using that combination is it?
Now granted I feel that linkin park is overplayed to shit, and Dragonball is a completely rancid anime in every way I can imagine, but if for whatever ungodly reason I decided to make an AMV to the combination, I'll be damned if I'm gonna listen to a bunch of dumb fucks telling me that I shouldn't do it. I'll make the video anyway. Fuck what they think about it.
And furthermore, I don't feel the need to appologize or make excuses for making what I feel to be some pretty cool shit, and then putting it out there for others to enjoy. Do you?
There's no point in lowering yourself to the point of asking people if it's alright to make a vid to (whatever music/anime). It just shouldn't matter in my opinion.
I hope that you didn't come into this whole thing with the idea that making AMVs was gonna make you cool somehow. Anyone here will attest that's not true. If anything it just makes you an even bigger dork. (or maybe that's just the case for me....) I'm sure that you got the idea to make AMVs the same way everyone else prolly did. You like music, You like anime, the combination of the two seems like a great idea!!! So remember that when you're making your vids. It's a form of expression, not a job that you need to taylor to what you think everyone else wants.
Ok, I feel better now. Going back to my usual self. ^_^

From what I here it's crap thoughAnd that doesn't really help you out. And it sure the hell doesn't help out the million other videos done to DBZ/Linkin Park...thus the reason why people don't watch them.
Bottom line is - if you want to make a video to something - do so. Plain and simple. Even if it IS the most overused stuff. I did my first video with KOHD and Staind...so trust me, I know in the beggining that you have to gain patience, will power, and originality in order to really make a nice video.
Just keep trying man. That's all I can tell ya. Keep working at it and you'll get better and better. Take your time too...I cannot stress that enough. If you don't put real time into making the video you'll see it. So DON'T ignore it like I did on my first video. Just go back and go through all the crap just to change one frame - it's important. It'll show that you're a respectable editor at least in one sense.
So to sum things up.
1. Take your time.
2. If you really want people to watch your video. And that's only if you want them to, do something more original. It doesn't have to be completely new, just somewhat original, editing, etc.
3. If you can - use dvd ripped footage for quality.
I hope that people here haven't discouraged you from AMV editing...they're just so tired of seeing the same thing most of the time. And I wouldn't want to lose a fellow editor that could have potential. So try again, and don't give up.Late.
