I know that anime is soooo popular now, but in my daily life, I catch more hell from my obsession. I'll be right in the middle of a really juicy episode of some series, and my husband will come home, and say "So honey, you watching your crap-a-may again?"(that's crap and anime together, isn't he just a gem?) Are you ever gonna fix dinner?" Blah, blah, blah go away ass, this is the good apart. And then, my friends and co-workers aren't any better.

So, it the culture that seeps in. The way emotion is drawn. And a storyline that can hook you for 27 episodes. Plus being a rebel is cool

Well, it sucks to be you.
Damn, this is why marriage is avoided like the plague it is.
Woman, your husband has it wrong.
If it were me I would punish him.

Hell if anyone i know called anime crap-a-may I would kill them or put them to death either way they wouldn't live to see there next birthday.
A couple of weeks ago some lady i was talking said that she did a voice over for charicter in "Hand maid may", and then she said that the only reason she did'nt like anime because all of it is sexist, or to perverted. That really pissed me off, but then i got it off my back by talking good about the anime that she was putting down. I hate people that put anime down with out knowing what its really about  :x. GETS ME REALLY PISSED OFF

I think my love of anime grew out of my love for sci-fi. Science fiction stories usually have amazing charicters and places but visual equivilents usually far far short of the original. In anime no place is harder to potray than any other and thus otherwordly events such as in "Eva" and "Now and then here and there" far outpace american movies.

At first I only liked animes cause they're well drawn (like 10 better than any Disney or WB). Then I started liking them cause they're much more serious than regular cartoons. And in the end, it's the characters and their "lives" tha I like to follow. Me liking an anime is 100% influenced by the character(s) of an anime. If I don't like any character in the certain anime I won't like the anime at all.

well most of the anime ive seen so far have been all good, cept for the animes like pokemon or yugioh or hamtaro those are the dumb animes. But the animes that really got me started was dragon ball z and ranma 1/2 even though ive only seen bit and peices of ranma half its one of my favorites. And then i went on to see animes like Ah! my godess and cowboy bebop, and rahXephon and inu yasha and so much more. But all i can say is that anime has been a major influence in my life ever since i started watching it, with ever anime that i've listed i can almost compare my life to ever one of these animes. Thats another reason why i love anime so much, is that its so real-to-life, and some of the stuff thats one anime can almost make me cry and it can make me laugh ass off. But anime is like a part of my life thats never been, and im glade that i got anime in my life and my mom even enjoys watching anime with, but my sister hates dont know why but she does. Im guessing my reasons for liking anime can go on and on.

I'm sorry to hear that. Why are some people so intollerant. Prehaps they have never tried it, and won't, because it would damage their built up image. My wife doesn't like most anime but doesn't mind others liking it. She once mentioned I was wasting my time on it. I replied, would you rather I spent my time at bars, chasing other women? End of problem.

Why I like anime. I have always been a fan of scifi and fantacy novels, comics ( I had the first issue of The Hulk when I was young), and movies (remember "The Day The Earth Stood Still" a real classic). I've been a movie nut for years, color television has been great for that. Anime is just an extension of those enjoyments in my life. A change to a new form that is beautiful in it's art, and interesting in it's storylines.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

I like anime because:
  • -Apple Jacks commercial response: I just do!
    -I grew up watching it.
-The man with the gun to my head says I do.
    -Giant robots.
-My massively advanced brain spits upon your puny brain that cannot comprehend anime storylines!
    -I gravitate towards non-super-popular-mainstream things.
-It keeps me regular without the gritty taste.
-12 out of 10 doctors agree.
-Because I don't have an answer.
