About widescreen videos...I assume we need to submit them as 4:3 with black bars at the top and bottom?

That would be correct. I have also now posted the rules on the Katsucon forum. I had to get re-activated on there.

Does there need to be a black screen lead in for the video? I know I had to do that in 2005 when I sent one (wow...been 5 years...).

It would be nice if there was a second or so of black before and at the end of each video, so they don't cut off abruptly.

I'll make that addition to the rules, not as a rule but highly recommended.

If the vid has entered few contests but won nothing, it's perfectly fine to submit it, right?

Yes it is fine if it has entered only a few contest and has won nothing. I will be out of state this weekend with limited access to the internet. I will try to check as often as I can.

Keep those videos coming. I want to make this year's Katsucon an amazing contest.

I am a member of Mr Starwind's department this year. In his absence, I'll try to answer as long as I know for sure. If I have any doubt at all, I'll abstain and yield to our almighty DH. If you read the rules and tech standards for this contest but still have questions, fire away. You'll receive a response in as timely a manner as possible.

Your video looks fine. We'll have to take another look at it the judging session.

ALSO THE DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO JAN 21st and 22nd

I'm in, I finally got something I really want to make AMVs out of, considering how fast I've ripped and converted most of my footage, I'll definitely get something in.
