Well the only thing that bothers me about SOTS fights is that they used their swords to block way too much. Samurai Champloo is more evasion than blocking. Realistically, they wouldn't be doing so much blocking.

However, the damage taken by their swords and their eventual breaking is evident. which helps.
Well, strictly speaking it's also unrealistic to breakdance, flip, teleport or use spiritual energy. In reality most swordfights are finished within 1-3 moves.

SotS is very embellished, to be sure, but as far as pacing and such goes, it's more realistic than...say...Kenshin, where every move is punctuated by monologues and dissertations.
wait, teleporting? i don't remember that in SC?

and the fight's are short enough to be realistic without being boring.

Well, Samurai X Trust and Betrayal had some pretty sick sword fights, I'm kind of surprised no one has suggested it.

This is Samurai X. It's just the Japanese name for it. /Otaku

You might want to try Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto as well, I'm not too sure about the sword fights, but I do remember it was pretty accurate in it's history.... accuracy.

Well yeah, but there is a huge difference between the four part OVA Trust and Betrayal, and the 95 episode series. The sword fights in Trust and Betrayal are entirely different from the sword fights in the series. I was surprised no one mentioned the OVA, not the actual series.

so does mine. I'm not debating the name. The dude was totally right.
The spelling for Rorouni Kenshin wouldn't come to me, so I used Samurai X.
(all better now? lol)

I thought the fights in Le Chevalier De'on were quite good, they aren't Japanese style though, since the series is set Europe and about some French knights.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?
