Actually, I'm pretty sure that it was 04 that blew up in Nevada, and 03 that became Bardiel. I was also under the impression that it was "infected" when it flew through that cloud. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, EVA-04 was the one that imploded NERV-02. EVA-03 was the Thirteenth Angel. You guys get your facts straight! :P
