If you know what the prob. is then thanks
This is a noobish solution, but have you tried changing the settings in your media player? I set my windows media player so it can't connect to the internet - that means it doesn't try to stream videos I download, and it doesn't take up bandwidth searching for the information for amvs (which, of course, have no such information to find - waste of time and connection speed). Just open your wmp and you should be able to change that option.

May not help with the problem, but it should be worth a shot.

That's because I was afraid to ask questions when I joined. :? New members were getting flamed left and right.

So now, if I think I can help, I will - because I've been there. ^"^

Ok, so how do you get it to stop streaming. I tried to get it to stop, but it still does? Anyone know of an answer?

Open Windows Media Player, go to 'tools' 'options' and 'network' - then deselect any you don't want to be used when streaming media.

[This works for wmp 9, the titles may be changed for other versions, but you should still have the same sort of options.]

Ok i tried that, but still no luck *destroys windows media player* Man, you'd think they would have a part that says "Check this is you would like to have windows media player play audio or video on the internet" but they don't. Basically, it didn't work. *thinks of a way to fix it* hmm.... too hard... i'll have to check on it, someone should know.

If you unchecked all the boxes it shouldn't be able to stream anything. The only other thing I can think of would be to check your internet options - advanced and see what settings you have for online multimedia.

Have you tried a different browser? Like mozilla?
