I still want the input, and I have found this input very useful so far. Anywho, thats me, making mistakes as always '-_-

However, on this same topic, can you make a suggestion of something that WOULD be advantagious to buy for video editing sake. If I can avoid spending so much money, you better believe I'll try. I need all the suggestions I can get O.O!!
If your plans are to edit anime music videos and possibly other similar type projects, I would recommend to atleast have the following for a good solid editing system.

- Lots of ram, min 512 meg, but I work with 1 gig...
- Yes, lots of video drive space is good. I use 200 Gig of Video drivers (2x80 and 1 x60). I run them off a Promise IDE ATA133 TX2 controller and have excellent results.
- 2 x 17" monitors (Flatscreen are more, but save space so it's a trade off here - If you go with a flat screen, even 15" is a good consideration and they are much cheaper).
- Video Cards that can run both monitors. a few choices here. ATI makes some cool stuff.

Depending on what you want else you want to do, you may consider a realtime editing card like a Pinnacle DV500 if you want to edit footage shot with a camera as or even analog footage as well. If Anime Music videos off DVD and digital output (Mpeg1, Mpeg2, XviD, etc) is all you want, then this is not a requirement. But you do get a full version of Premiere with it and the cost is like $500.00 (Premiere itself costs in that range!)

If you do decide to go with a video editing card. Make sure the motherboard and video cards you choose are compatible with it! I'm sure lots of people make recommendations here...

In Canadian funds.... I think I did see it for about $800.00 somewhere. Most of the costs I tend to get from the Web and are in Amercian $. I did check about 1 year ago on the price locally and I think it wnet for about $1000.00. But that was a year ago and the price has dropped since then... It still is a great deal getting Premiere and all with it though... I actually use a Matrox RT2500, but I have heard very good things about the DV500 and it's a tad cheaper...

Isn't the RT2500 one or two grand though? (In American USD, of course)

I've also heard good things about the DV500, comes in handy if editing say DVD DV footage or something.

No.....The RT2500 is equivalent to the DV500 and is close in price... Matrox now have two newer cards called the RTX.10 amd RTX.100DVD DV footage or something.
