Indeed it was. Most of my 2001 videos made their way onto the majority of p2p groups. You can still find original encodes of Utena (Story of a Girl) and Arima to Miyazawa floating around. You have to understand, it was a real emotional tug of war. What I changed I changed either because I knew that the effect was not what I had originally intended, or because I couldn't remember what my original intent was. There were several scene choices I would have done differently had this been a brand new video. However, I wanted to stay as true to my original intent as possible. This was a remaster, not a reinvisioning. So where I remembered my reasoning for the scene choice, even if I no longer agreed with it, I kept said choice. I wanted it to be an accurate, but polished, representation of the style that created it. It was important to me to preserve that part of my editing history, while still making it pretty according to current standards. I hope that makes sense.
I was also very upset about the sex scene. I must have said fuck about a hundred times in #amv as I worked on this remaster because of it.
