Oh, right. I meant to write this after my earlier quip.

If you really "believed" in the GNU principles, you wouldn't issue any sort of takedown notice for unauthorized derivative work, because under that mindset there is no such thing as an unauthorized derivative work.

Agree or disagree with them, believe or disbelieve them -- whatever you want, that's fine. Just don't implicitly misrepresent those principles. That's a wrong which roughly on the same level as plagiarism.

No, and even though I don't remember liking his insanely popular classic hit ("Odorikuruu"), I'm surprised he's not getting more reactions like this.
