it violates the tube terms of service when people upload anime there (including amvs)

heck lipsync "video blogs" violate their terms of service
so then does everyone buy dvds to get the awesome quality? cuz thats a lot of dvds and can you even buy them in america?

yes, most people here use dvds (it's supposed to be against the rules to use downloaded footage...but that seems like it would be near impossible to enforce)
yes, you can buy them in the US (as well as many other countries)

A few retail stores that carry anime are Best Buy, Borders Books, Target (at least they had anime...), Suncoast (dunno if they're still around)
there are a lot more...these are just off the top of my head

online sites you can buy anime on include: newegg.com, deepdiscout.com, amazon.com, rightstuff.com

suncoast is still around yes...

fye, sam goodey are also good places to look...

alot of the times in game stores they will have used DVDs, thats how i get alot of mine, cause they are cheaper...

i found the whole Black Heaven series for $40 (compared to suncoast's 108, i snached that up) and i got 2 hamtaro DVDs for $10

check out any place that has used DVDs you can find alot of good deals..

Gamestop, EB Games, Hollywood Video, Blockbuster, the local pawn shops carry alot of anime DVDs around here for me... and alot of the smaller game shops

I buy all my anime from amazon.com and rightstuff.com. If you look enough, you can get some great deals and most of the anime is cheaper than you would find elsewhere. Most of the single DVDs on Amazon are only $24.95 compared to the usual $29.99 I typically find at Suncoast, FYE, Best Buy, etc...

Sorry for double post but forgot to add this:

This is also why I don't have alot of sources. I kinda just recently got into animes/amvs. Therfore I only have Samurai Champloo,DBZ, and very recently some zoids that I just couldn't pass up XD.

You'll also see that ALOT of editors on ehre don't use THAT wide of a variety of Animes. But just as there are those who do that there are also alot who seem to have a CRAPLOAD of anime. I, for one, Am not... lets say the most well of in the area of money, Therefore cannot obtain alot of anime.

It's not like we buy all this anime at one time...it takes years and years to get a significant collection, and I myself only just got into anime within the past seven or eight months. I have something like six or seven full series and maybe just as many movies/OVAs. It takes time :/
