I liked the video, except for the overlays symbolizing the guitar fret, they just didn't make a guitar fret noise... but they worked to a serviceable level. The interlacing problems bothered me a bit, but otherwise quality is excellent. I liked your usage of multiple anime, it didn't seem too cluttered up, although it did seem kind of weird (the mixing) on a small basis. And a few other effects used to symbolize other sound effects (like the speed up at the end with the butterfly) were a bit off or imperfect.
Overall I liked it.

Actually, there is. If he hadn't, I would have criticized him for using so much of your editing style.Otohiko wrote:Heh, no need to mention me so explicitly![]()

Heh, ironic, because while I think this video definitely has some very similar textures and ideas that I used in making mine, I think the editing approach is very different in general - at least that's my view. It's much more freely structured, and I think the points of orientation in terms of sync (mood and editing) are completely different from what I would have done. And on the technical level... I don't even know how to do piano keys that look like this, for one
And I didn't know Darude actually did things that had so much ambience/texture; all I was hearing before was much faster and beat-oriented.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

the repeating fading overlays (1:36-1:38) worked pretty well
however, most of the other effects weren't all that effective, and it feels like you could have taken advantage of the rhythms in the guitar part more.
the emotion was very good. this one's a keeper.

I'm saving this one, too. Very good mood-synch. Some of the clips are, umm... odd; that very last one, for example. I don't get it, but if it works for you, then it's good.
I was thinking that those keys and rectangles could have had more of a "floating" look with drop shadows. Real easy to do with Vegas (ref. track motion settings).
While I didn't have a problem with the rectangles, the transitions I'm not so sure about. Using an odd transition or effect only once can be risky. It indicates lack of commitment or perhaps pandering to the audience. That one with the rectangles (was that the Sony portal transition?) looked especially out of place.
Nice job.
