I think that the no VG rule is dumb. As long as the video is good it should be allowed. Its like saying no one should be allowed to cosplay as vg characters at an anime con. Anime and vg's go hand in hand. but i will admit that i do agree with the fact that the two kingdom hearts videos looked the same.

I;m not saying that VG AMVs shouldn't be allowed, HOWEVER you shouldn't make a rule saying that they can't be enetered and then suddenly put a few of them in the finals when you said that they would be disqualified.GreatLupin wrote:I think that the no VG rule is dumb. What if the olympics suddenly allowed one athlete in who was taking steroids as an exception and he won a gold medal? Granted taht this happened before but let's assume taht they were well aware of the fact taht he was taking steroids. Under that perspective it's pretty bad.

I don't think there was anything in the rules saying that you -couldn't- make a VG video though, and since we had one at AX2003, that somewhat set a precident.
Personally though, I'm not too keen on the idea of having VG videos in an Anime Music Video competition either.

Fyi, I specifically emailed the coordinator asking if it was alright to enter my Kingdom Hearts video, seeing as it's VG footage. They said it was fine since they allowed an Final Fantasy video in last year and that those particular Square Enix character designs are in the nature of anime characters but 3D, so I sent it in. This is why the videos most likely weren't disqualified. =/
