Sorta late in the game here, but I always sorta figured this followed sorta like AWA's rules

Um....

AWA doesnt have any rules against non anime footage as it doesnt have an anime-only contest.

I read in last years AWA rules book (the net version, cause I think thats the ONLY version) that in the beginners showing, you could only have 25% non-anime.

That's what I read.

Unless... maybe a diffrent awa? I'm thinking Anime Weekend Alanta?

Maybe you're confusing AWA with Anime Boston, the only contest I know of that categorizes entries by experience level: novice, journeyman, master.

From the AniBo rules: "...At least 75% of each entry must contain anime-oriented footage...." AWA does not have this restriction or anything like it.
