I only have one tatoo and i'm proud of it. It's a dragon on my left sholder blade and i like it there. i thought about it for well over a year because it is permanent and i didn't want to get something that is just frivolous and i'd be embaresed about later.

As for the pain issue: it does hurt. i was talking to a tatoo artist just yesterday (i hadn't even read this thread then) and he said that he even has people pass out on him. tell me that it doesn't hurt now. also mine didn't hurt much at all. in fact i could see myself getting another one (but i'd have to think about it for a while longer).

As with the swelling and bandages, i had mine off the next day and it was healed over in a week. i know some other people who had theirs on for almost a month.

so in recap:

Jace Tsunami and Propyro, stop arguing about it. you're both right on several points.

PS if anyone says it doesn't hurt, then they're lying and just trying to sound tough (but that is my own opinion from personal experience)

it hurts yes, but not horrible horrible pain. You just get used to it as they do it, and it stops really hurting.

I'm sure as a tattoo artist, that guy that talked to you has seen a case of just about everything, but the mojority of everyone goes in and out much like yourself.

Anyone know about Bill Goldbergs tatoo, that tribal thing on his arm?

he told me a story of when he started putting on serious weight in his UGA days that before his tatoo used to be closer to his tricep rather than his shoulder. O_O

Beaverton, OR - Another panty shop was raided last night. Witnesses claim to have seen a man, in his late teens, about 5' 10 160- 180lbs running from the scene. Another person states that they saw what looked like a large tatoo of a girl with purple hair and a red jacket. "I couldn't really tell what it looked like, but if you asked me the girl looked like a slut. I mean a hoe.". When the man said this a unidentified man dashed out from the nearby woods and said "FUCK YOU ASSHOLE.". He disappeared before police could track him down.

We talked with local panty store owner Jenny Galen about the recent panty raids. She states that she believes some of these raids are carried out by so called "otakus", who have a overwhelming fetish for girls underwear and women with unnatural hair colors. "It's just disgusting" she said. When asked if it was the panty raids or the 'otakus'. She replied "Panty raiding is a normal male activity, anime on the other hand is sick and disgusting. How these people can get hooked on a cartoon? I just don't know." When asked what her favorite My Little Pony was she stated "That's none of your business!", when pressured on the subject she admitted that she had sexual fantasies for "Moondancer".

This is the sixth panty raid in the last two months. Previous raids have left two mannequins injured and panty store owners feeling violated.

One: Tattoos are cool. They're theultimate icebreaker. If you have one, and you see a chick (or a guy, whatever) who has one, it's an instant conversation topic.
Two: Tattoos do NOT hurt. the feeling you're registering seems a lot like pain, seems a lot like the guy isn't punching tiny holes through your delicate flesh, but instead, ripsawing his way through many layers of flesh tissue, into the meat beneath, but you're WRONG. The sensation is like a sort of stinging tickle sensation. And if some guy got a tattoo that was sore for a whole MONTH afterwords, you call that INFECTION. The only thing about tattoos that's annoying is the itch when it heals. When I got mine (Two Kanji, one on each shoulder, Truth and Luck) the itch got so bad during the first three nights I wanted to dig my fingers into the offending flesh and tear it from my body.
Three: anime tattoos: Whatever floats your boat. After all, it IS your body. I don't think I'd get one though. It'd have to be designed by me, or something that I have to deal with on a daily basis, something that is impacting. Anime is cool, but it isn't my life. The only thing I've considered for a tatoo is Spiderman, because I've been a fan of him since I was 6. But I haven't yet.
