Quick Vegas Questions.
I think these are some simple questions, but I can't find the answers on my own as I'm new to Vegas and creating AMVs in general.
1. How do I mute the video but not the audio in Vegas 7.0?
2. Are there any previous versions of Vegas I can use for free? I'm on a 30 day trial.
3. Do I need the .sfk files? They keep popping up on my desktop, so I just want to know if I can get rid of them without effecting my upcoming projects.

No, there are not any Vegas versions that are free...however, if there are, it's probably useless because of all the features that are not there...
To mute the video...hover over the top of a video clip and drag it down, you should see a blue line OR right click it and go to switches > and click mute
For the sfk files, they are there to load in the wave forms/video forms for your project, I prefer to keep them in the same folder as my video files until my project is done so that my project has less loading time.

the other ones were answered... this however sounds more like how to change the opacity...RIPmyprsoul wrote:To mute the video...hover over the top of a video clip and drag it down, you should see a blue line OR right click it and go to switches > and click mute
to "mute" a clip all you have to do is select the audio (make sure only the audio is selected") right click on it and and choose delete... or hit the delete key on your keyboard...
if you make clips with no sound you shouldnt have to worry about those anyways

Thanks, with this I'll probably learn how to make a half-decent AMV. I'm sure it'll take a lot of experimenting, as well as a lot of time. It also seems that in a few days, I'll have to search for decent, cheap/free video editing software (if that exists). I'll use Vegas to learn the ropes so moving on to another program might be easier.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

So say if you want to remake your video at a later time (Better footage, different scenes, etc), the sfk files are important and should be kept?RIPmyprsoul wrote:No, there are not any Vegas versions that are free...however, if there are, it's probably useless because of all the features that are not there...

no theyre not important unless u dont want to go to the hassle of deleting the sfk files everytime ur done with a vegas project because vegas keeps creating them everytime u start the project`Eclipse wrote:So say if you want to remake your video at a later time (Better footage, different scenes, etc), the sfk files are important and should be kept?RIPmyprsoul wrote:No, there are not any Vegas versions that are free...however, if there are, it's probably useless because of all the features that are not there...
