Sony Vegas Movie Studio + DVD 7 (Platinum Edition)

Post by obibyn » Fri Apr 27, 2007 11:19 pm

I just bought this from Amazon, and Im wondering...Is this a good editing software for a noob? I have only used WMM for about a year, and am looking for a better editing software. I figured I can use the dvd portion of the product as I have made videos before for my friends band, and figured it would come in handy for making dvds.

Just curious, am I in good hands with this product?

Thanks in advance

Yah, I worked with WMM for abotu as long as you did, and have picked up vegas pretty fast. There is a semi-steep learning curve with vegas but ocne you learn the basics you can do just about anything through experimentation

Just keep in mind that Vegas Movie Studio is not the same as Vegas 6 or 7. It's more stripped down and I don't believe it offers many of the features as Vegas.

Oh, I am sry. I did not read the title thoroughly. What I say may or may not hold true now... but my guess is it's prolly still fine.

Really? I hope thats not a problem. It said it offered over 500 different effects and transitions..which blows away WMM.

I thought it was just basically Vegas plus the dvd package.

It got really good reviews, thats why i purchased it. But if it doesn't offer a sound video editor as a main feature, i might be in trouble.

thanks for the help fellas

From what I've read, it's along the lines of what Premiere Elements is to Premiere. Offers some of the features, but not all. I've never used it but I assume it's well above WMM and I know Premiere Elements is an okay program and this is supposed to be better if that helps at all.
