How do I convert a M4V file to a format that can be used in Virtual Dub?

wth is in a m4v file - if you rename it to .mp4 does it still work?

The file is a Itunes video file. I bought the music video in hopes of using some of it in an AMV but I can't work with this format.

Changing the file extension didn't work.

Apple puts copy protection on the files. You cant use it as far as I know.

load it through a directshowsource() script?

either manually, or through an Avisynth template when you go File>>Open video file...

in theory, if you can play it on your computer, I don't see why you couldn't view it directshow
