Premiere 6.0 -> After Effects 6.0

I have made an Adobe Premiere project...it's just few clips with one simple push transition(an experimental video...just so that I can try to edit it in the AF cause I'm a noob)...and saved it...end when I go to Open Project in After Effects and open it I get all clips and transition properly arranged in the timeline but when a go to ram preview I can't see the effect of one clip pushing into another one (like there isn't a push transition in the timeline)...the eye simbol is there though

I'm an ultra giga mega noob so don't laugh if this is something banal(but I have a very strange feeling that it is

)

Help please!

I'm not sure if this is the problem, but in the older versions of these programs a lot of things that you did in one wont show up in the other one... so you really need to export a lossless avi file from one into the other.

In AE - How can I make a track between another two so that I can put transition there?
(In premiere I could just switch to A/B Editing and put transition in the new track)

And the last one...
How are you guys making those cool AMV's like AMV Hell. I mean do you make many small clips(with cool effects on them) in AE and than import them in premiere and than arrange them as you like and put many different transitions.........or?

New ones shouldn´t take the machine gun. They should first try to shoot with a pistole.
Seriously: Don´t overwork yourself with new knowledge.

You have to:
-Understand the technical guides here
-You must know how to use your simpel editing software (in this case Premiere Pro) and that means: Keyframing, Timing, how to make a good amv (yes you can make good amvs in PP. The best effects can´t make the good amv for you).

Than... You throw away a lot of your knowledge and change your mind to think After Effects.

AE is:
-A world where audio not really exist
-A world where you all do yourself (and yes transitions too)
etc.

It is very different to PP.

I have AE 7.0 and the answer is: No. All the transitions are nothing more than effects and keyframing. There is no need to show them in AE in the timeline.

Open the helpfile and search for transition and animation. There should be a page with nice gif animated pictures that show you animations for re-use in your project. The help file also tells you how to add them into your clip.

How are you guys making those cool AMV's like AMV Hell.

Most of the clips were NOT made in AE. Don´t be disapointed but AE is really too much for you right now. You need experience. Everything is experience!

Do you know the amv "Euphoria"?
Everything was made with MSPaint and Magix Video DeLuxe. Magix can do less things than Premiere can do and GIMP is a freeware programm that has a power like Photoshop (and that is much more than Paint).

Learn to use Premiere Pro and make your first amvs with it and read the guides here. After some time when you have enough experience... Take the step into AE. You can´t make good amvs or effects in AE (by the way: AE is for effects only and not for editing) without the basics.

Remember, Premiere 6.0 is a generation before After Effects 6.0. Even though they are the same version number, After Effects 6.x was released along with Premiere Pro 1.x so some effects will not carry over, like the opacity rubber bands.

While Bauzi is correct that you should take some time and learn Premiere 6.0 (NOT PRO Bauzi

) since you will do most of your editing there. Try looking into GIMP or anything like that since most of the "fancy effects" are done with image editing software (I know Euphoria and Skittles were).

After Effects is a powerful, but complex program. I've had it for about a year now and I'm still learning all the nooks and crannies. But don't expect to make the most complex video from the start. Take some time and you will get there at some point. You just need to fiddle around and learn what everything does.

ZOMG!
I didn't know that...
...that AMV is teh masterpiece...the best AMV I have ever seen.
Magix Video DeLuxe...hm...interesting...I think that I will try making AMV's with this program...just kidding!

And for the rest that you guys wrote...I think I got the point...I decided that I will try to make AMV's with programs that are more advanced than WMM but I didn't know how to start...but you made it all clear...I will listen to your advice and put After Effects aside for now and stick to Premiere

Just one more thing... Could you show me an AMV that is made with Premiere only but has many cool effects and one that doesn't have meny effects but is still very very good?
