I liked the beginning very much. It was quite subtle and nicely built up the atmosphere. Good effects here and there, too. Especially the scene at 00:51, where you have a wide image of all the chartacters scrolling in the background, and you fade another image of the specific character on the foreground. But I'm not too fond of the aura effect you used on the outlines in that particular scene.

Hm, after the first 3, 4 minutes though, the vid seemed to drag the concept and song too far. It became a bit repetitive and I felt like the last minutes were there just to fill a really big gap. I would have definately cut the song short. Fonts were all over the place too and could have been used better.

Good use of anime footage and other related art/fanart.

:O

Could this be the first good FSN AMV ? I've really waited for a video that actually showcasts what the shows potential is. And Muse ... nice

I'll edit the post as soon as I've watched it.

Edit: Well acutally I expected a bit more, like an edit with fast paced action, but the video is full length and lacks fast paced editing since you decided to let the scenes do the work for you which actually worked in some placeses but failed in others. So it sadly doesn't ascend beyond the average. Anyway better luck next time.

I'm glad you enjoyed the beginning. I did spend a lot of time making sure I captured the audiences' attention with the first minute of footage. As for the scrolling portion with the servants coming into the foreground, the background was a fan art piece that was on the Fate/Hollow Ataraxia game. The aura problem that you pointed out was pretty much background remnants left from trying to cut the characters out of the CG. I'm not quite sure on how to cut the characters out so close that there was none of that remnant, so that is why that was there.

That was one thing I was trying not to do, and so far, comments made by veteran AMV creators to me stated that I did a good job with that. This was defiantely not a song that I felt would given justice to if I cut it short, and there are only really 2 lyrical phrases in this song, the 2nd one repeated 3 times. The first of these was devoted to Shirou, and related it to Rin and Saber, the second was devoted to Rin and related it to Shirou and Archer. The break in between the 2 was meant for more action, since I felt I was lacking any real Servant battles in the first half of my video, but felt I lead up to it in a decent fashion.

Fonts were only used in the master section, the servant intros and then only in the end. I only used them to assist in the story telling that may had been lost to the audience's imagination.

Thanks for the comments on my use of footage. Only a true F/SN vet would be able to discern what was from the anime and what was taken from the games.

Thanks! May I ask what parts gave you chills? I had people tell me this and I want to know what scenes gave them this feeling. ^^

Hmmm, I wonder what happened to Sakura in that third panel.

So a true Fate/stay night vet would include persons who actually went though the visual novel?

I've gotta say, I really liked it :) It's a great song and it matches the tone of the show very well. I thought your editing style here was very effective and even though it was a longer song, at no point did I feel like it was dragging or losing steam.

I will admit however that I think a lot of my enjoyment was based off of having seen the entire series. I don't really know if my level of attention would have been the same if I had never seen the show. Also, I too felt the font choices could've been better, and I wasn't too crazy about the extra end segment. Didn't really feel like it added a whole lot to the video.

It's also important to mention that the video could potentially be somewhat spoiler heavy, given that throughout the show you're supposed to think that certain things have happened, which obviously become changed having seen certain things happen in your video (if that makes sense).

Overall though, good job :) I approve.

Not sure what that cliche poster has to do with my video, but I'll say something about the vet comment.

In the anime, they focused on the Fate arc, tossing in bits of the other 2 arcs in it. I suppose you could say that a Fate/Stay Night vet could only be one who understood the events that occured in all 3 arcs, but I didn't want to make a video that was about the games, but the storyline presented in the anime. I threw in bits from both games, including Hollow Ataraxia, but that was only some CG that related to the original characters. (IE: I didn't have Karen or Avenger in it because they don't ever appear in the anime.)

I appreciate your comments on my editing job. I really felt that I kept the energy up throughout the video.

I have to admit though, I have friends and other people who have never seen the show or played the games and they have expressed great interest in seeing the show for themselves. This was a point that I was trying to bring across since the show has just come across from Japan since January. It is a show that I really want people to see and I felt i tried to give them a decent view of the characters and the over all story.

As for the potential spoilers, I have been told that they are potentially spoliers if you know what happens. I tried to keep things up to the imagination, and not show what exactly happens.

As for my closing bit, I didn't just want to leave the audience with nothing to bring the video to closure. That's what I felt would had happened if I had just let the video end with the Fate logo. I always add my trademark ending with "owari" in hiragana as well.

I appreciate your comments. Having these in an opinion for my profile would be great too!
