AMV Review 2007-03-19 Bryan Pardue's "Kei"

Just a reminder that tomorrow on Monday, March 26 at 21:00 EDT (9pm) we are holding another session of the amv-review in channel #amv-review on server irc.zirc.org

There is still time to submit video suggestions, we've already had a few. It could be a video you have done and feel would make great discussion, or someone else's video you yourself want to talk about! This is not a pimp opportunity, and submitters should keep this in mind.

It's going to go down like this:
1) At 21:00 we drop the link to the video in #amv-review for people to download
2) Everyone watches, then goes and leaves an op
3) Afterwards there is a discussion between members about the video, what you liked, what you didn't like, what you thought worked, how it reminded you of X... how you interpreted Y... It's moderated to keep On Topic (note this is not a Q&A with the editor, if she/he happens to be there)

If you're in the least bit interested in talking about AMV's, come on out tomorrow and give it a try! See you all then.

Why no announce it here at 20:30? Any sort of sensible critique
would require watching it at least a couple of times, and furthermore
watching some of the creator's other AMVs for the purpose
of context.

Thanks for your interest in amv-review. Your suggestion is actually so good, we're already doing it! That's why it's not starting at 21:30. Hopefully see you tomorrow!

lol! my take on this, just op the damned thang lol.

I usually just watch a video once (or twice... or more if I like it -_-) and try to op it RIGHT there so not to give myself a chance to spur on bias. More often than not my first opinion on things are correct... or at least massively entertaining o.0.

But as for this specific occasion, I'm not sure... I'd probably stick around... don't know if I'd participate exactly. I like to view, put it down for a few days, then op it on a single viewing. The first time I view it I tend to get cocky and compare it to some other recent videos of similar nature (not fair...), so... I like to sleep on it for a while.

I still have to op that Kei video... such confusion o.0

... nobody has to op it, you know. I'm fine with someone going to watch it, leaving me a quick comment like "it sux" and then going by that. Hell... I have one video up I did just for that purpose... eh, maybe two...

We ask that people who participate please do leave an op first, it's 50% of the point.

Speaking of which, we're still on schedule to do another session tonight at 9pm EDT (in 2 hours) in channel #amv-review, hope to see some of you there! We're looking for people willing to participate and make the magic happen
