Tora-Con 2007 - A cry for help

Post by davenfonet » Sun Mar 11, 2007 11:44 pm

Many of you may remember last years cry for help, and an under abundance of AMV submissions this year has made one necessary again.

The Tora-Con AMV competition is in dire need of submissions as we have roughly 1/8 the number of submission we need to even consider having it as part of events.

The basic rules are:

mpeg/mpeg2 or xvid (not recommended)
2 videos per person both will be available for judging
5 second bumpers
no credits
1 submission form per video please
Can’t have won other major awards
PG-13 please

All the other rules are waved; we are really in dire need of submissions, please us out. I need to have a goodly number (15-20) by this coming Friday in order to justify keeping the contest as part of the con.

AIM file transfers, and yousend/rapidshare, are all now valid ways of submitting videos as is a link from your org profile so long as you e-mail me a submission from for the video.

The rules say that the deadline is April 10th, why are you desperate with over a month to go?

Calm down, Todd! It'll be done soon!

(mostly aiming until the end of March though)

I bet it's because the con staff/e-board members expected to see a larger number of participants at this point of time. I wonder if they ever figured that editors procrastinate before the deadline.

because you can't say i need a 2 hour block of time, an adutorium and $150 in prizes, when you have 2 vidoes to show. It just doesn't work like that.

Yeah, but nobody ever submits until the deadline. If you can't successfully explain that to them and if they can't grasp that, then obviously they're not deserving of an AMV contest in the first place.

You know your submission form is missing the "video title" section, right?
