[WIP]AMV Hell Air Master clip

Post by langrisser » Sun Mar 11, 2007 2:42 pm

Anime: Air Master
Song: Lets Get It On
Artist: Randy "Macho Man" Savage

I plan to submit this with a few others for the AMV Hell video featured at Tekkoshocon, since this is my first time working on short amvs i was hoping for some feedback even if it's as simple as "it's bad " or " it's good"

This is a finished clip for the most part but i might change the ending depending on feedback.

It's good.

No major problems that I can see, except for the subtitles at :26. They're just distracting, and add nothing to the clip.

I'll be honest, you have a serious problem with sync from what I can tell. You have a lot of wasted beats you could be doing something with. Now that is not to say you don't have some really good sync; you do. You just don't have enough. A good example is the zoom in at 00:05, it's right on beat. The following segment with jumping off the wall is also on beat. At 00:17 however, you have scene changes that make very little sense and don't go at all with the flow of the video thus far established. At 00:20, "Body Convlusion" is not an appropriate scene. The aural sync is matched, but it seems like such a waste. I would instead have a scene of one of the fighters having a convulsion after being hit or something. It would make a lot more sense. "Way Too Strong" is just cheesy looking. And of course the subtitle has to go. The punch on "Step In The Ring" is nicely done.

uh i guess other than the guy dressed as a wrestler to a song by a wrestler i dont get the humor...

but interesting.

and i dont think it needs to be super synced out for a humor video..
though terrible cheese can work?

I wasn't really aiming for humor outside of that. I was just trying to have some fun with a amv clip.

hopefully i've fix some of the problems Kionon pointed out with V2, aside from changing the timing on last clip at:25 so it's more zoom and less still image i think this is very solid now. Thanks for the feedback especially Kionon
