Shinji shows genuine love for neither of them, and lust for both, but the only one he shows hatred to is Asuka. Get used to it.

Rei loves him because she is like his mother. Asuka dislikes Shinji's pussiness and passive ways, which is understandable, but she never seem ed to outright hate him. In a way, they're like the <a href="http://www.friesian.com/yinyang.htm">yin and yang</a>, but with reversed genders. Anyhow, why is it, in Shinji's alternate reality dream place, that he ends up with Asuka, if they both hate one another?

I hated Rei. Gendo should've just had his hand up her ass (like he probably did

) like a puppet the whole series, considering that's how much of a character she really was. Asuka had personality, confidence, and finally vulnerability. Better than some blue haired clone who's only role was to look spooky.

I think Rei is one of the best anime characters ever created. My reasons only I can truly understand.

I for one can say Shinji awesome although he was never fleshed out enough for me to like his type.

As for the topic at hand. Go ahead. When or if you get it done, annouce it and I'll see about giving it an Opinion.

Note: I always give better than average points, cause...average, is what the video I am working on.

An Asuka/Shinji pairing is the only one that should happen. Rei has 50% of Yui's DNA. So yeah. That gets kinda wierd. Asuka on the other just appears to hate Shinji. She is in fact, exactly like him. Shinji receeds from people to keep from being hurt while Asuka pushes them away to achieve the same results. They even say this in the series in one of the mind scenes. Asuka said something like "I can't stand looking at you", and Shinji's responds was "Because you are just like me." And one more thing. What about the end of "The End of Evangelion." Why is it Shinji brought Asuka back with him after the 3rd impact? Because he does care for her, thats why.

if asuka wasn't such a world-class bitch, i'd agree with you.

as it is, i just think rei and shinji are cuter together.
