for now, i'm going to revise the original post to say 6.5 may be allowed in the first track, since i think we only want straight cuts and fades

Will premiere pro be able to convert opacity rubberbands into opacity keyframes?

i would assume. if nobody else can verify this, i should be able to soon. i'm on 6.5, but getting pro for this project.

If it can't, i guess you would have to use cross dissolves. Also when you import a Premiere 6.x project into Premiere Pro, some effects are obsolete (Ex. Image Pan). So the person who edits it next will have to substitute those effects for others.

which is why we only want straight cuts and fades in the opening track. as i've said before.
