Meteorology

Post by Niotex » Wed Feb 28, 2007 5:31 pm

After first looking around for a location as to post this I couldn't make up my mind. The thing being that I have a request for the translation of some audio. Audio help was an option but that deals with codecs/drivers/encoding. General Audio is as it stated merely for the discussion of music. If mods feel the need as to move this to a more appropriate location feel free as to do so.

Anyway let me get to the problem at hand. As the Subject states "Meteorology" a track by Overseer. In this track there is a number of phrases in a language I cant understand very well. Me being Dutch myself I can make out only so much. I can say with relative certainty it is Swedish, and that the phrases spoken are sayings.

[MOD99: Link removed. Please be aware of the org <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=289">Forum Rules</a>.] is the track itself.

The only one I got translated myself was something along the lines off. "In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king." Or at least thats what I'm assuming it meant. Thus why I assumed the rest of the lines are sayings.

So if someone would be so kind as to translate the segments for me it would be really appreciated. I'd also like to request that along with that if someone could give me the reference to the actual quotation.

have you tried searching online for the songs lyrics then searching for an online translater to put them in?
"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson

Tried that, doesn't work as none of the lyrics sites seem to bother with these lines and simply skip them. And considering lyric sites always copy everything from each other out of one database, its not getting me anywhere.

I have come past that in the past. But the problem I had with that version at the time was that grammar wise, the translations were absolute crap. These for one however make sense. So very appreciated =3

did you try writing to either the band or the bands website? Typically they have forums with people who're knowladgable in such things. Altrenately you can post your question on the Blind Guardian forums, since there's an incredible nationality diversity there, you'd probably have more luck.
