Standards of Ban-worthy material

We are trying to give users a chance to change their behavior before a temp ban comes into play. If it doesn't appear to be working then progressively longer ban periods will come into play. If that still doesn't work, then we will resort to perma-bans We don't specifically differentiate/prioritize between types of infractions unless the severity of the actions warrant it.
In regards to racial remarks and spamming, warnings do go out for both when warranted. In some cases it is difficult to make a call if something crosses the line thus things are typically decided case by case by the mod that finds the post.
As a result the 'Godix incident', I'm going to avoid mentioning exactly what step we are at or what we will be doing and instead say that we are watching the situation and will continue to moderate it as needed...

I'm not prostesting the other member's ban. He got a warning, and continued to spam anyway. I was mostly questioning the severe lag in warning/punishing offenders of the first type.Tsunami Jones wrote:A warning has been sent to the first member.
As to the other member that was banned, he has recieved multiple warnings and has recieved previous bans in the past for identical behavior.

I think some lag is important, unless the member is really messing up the community or breaking the forums, the only immediate ban-worthy offenses in my mind.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Some people SHOULD no better than others, so I think their actions are right. This guy is total utter newb, and instead of helping out this total newb, you throw pointless math at him. At least he was talking about anime and how he liked it, not much of a troll if you ask me. It's not like he was just coming here to piss everyone off.

Considering the background to the mods going somewhat slow here I should point out that I've been fucking with him and haven't received a warning, although I would stop if I did get one. The person who was banned was not banned because of screwing with the oriental David Duke and it was pretty much a coincidence it happened in one of the asians rule threads. Not that anyone has accused the mods of something like last week but just pointing out things are going pretty much exactly like people said they wanted them to last week.Otohiko wrote:By the way, I'd also like to chime in on the fact that, well, I believe duly-provoked mockery is not something that should neccesarily be discouraged, let alone punished.godix wrote: People who promote racism should be fucked with. If for no other reason than to show them that it isn't just a mod getting pissy and giving them a warning for no reason, it's the community as a whole that finds their attitude unacceptable.
