Is this against the rules?

I was watching a video when I noticed that a lot of the scenes looked amazingly familier to other videos I had previously seen about the same anime. For example in a video there is a scene of a guy jumping, a different one of him running, and a different one of him walking, In that order. All the scenes came from different episodes. I had seen those some the scenes in that same order with the same editing in ANOTHER video made by a DIFFERENT person EARLIER. So my question is: can someone take something out of a video (such as in the example) and use it in their video??? I'm pretty sure it's against the rules, but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to report it or what...

some of that naturally occurs because you have many videos being made with a limited source, but taking a part of someone else's video and using it as your own is frowned upon.
Even with a source like naruto that has over 200 episodes, when you have over 10 thousand amvs using it there are bound to be a lot of similarities.

if you think that part of a video is stolen and used in another video you can make a note about it in the mod drop box...and then they can determine if it is against the rules or not

We more than frown on it.

I've had this happen to me, and I'll tell you, nothing pisses many of us more than having parts of our editing stolen. It's much more insidious than merely recapping an entirely stolen video.

There's nothing worse than having someone swipe something from you but I know from experience there's not much that will be done for it. Awhile back I asked a guy to look at a beta of mine then he turned around and used it in his own damned video before I even released it. Kitsuner is a low life scum sucking bottomfeeding video theft but he got away with it that time. Fucking King of Spayn.
