Post by BlaCk_PeArL_27 » Sun Jan 28, 2007 2:11 pm

Ok I got super bcuz I want my video .wmv turns to different format like Xvid/DivX. How can I make that? :?

Well now I'm working my project and I'm thinking too if I finished it today or 2morrow I want to change it before I add here or in my other friends site. My problem is .... I don't know how to convert the .wmv to .avi (contains Xvid/Divx or other format that I want) :?

why would you want to? by converting it, you'll only loose more quality. unless your only goal is to trick viewers into thinking your not a WMM editor.

on another note, super is junk.

i don't recommend you convert your final encode.

You don't recommend to convert anything so thank you for knowing that this is all I want ^_^.

I don't trick other viewers into thinking that I'm not but for me; think what they want, it's up to them. I did not hold their thoughts about me ^_^; just I want to know how to convert my video files that's all ;) Btw... thanks for saying I loose more quality :P

So if anyone known how can I convert my file w/out loosing my vid quality?

I'm really glad to accept your suggestion, opinion or comment ^_^ want to learn more stuff and added in my brain ^_^;

I work on a Mac, but have tried out various Windows-based programs just out of curiosity. I didn't find SUPER all that bad—especially when considering the alternatives (Windows Movie Maker WMV—yikes). I think that if someone is choosing between WMV and DivX/AVI, I'd say to encourage them to use DivX/XviD AVI, even if it means being encoded with SUPER!

I've made test clips in WMM (which I do not like very much). Then I export it as a DV AVI. Then I open this in MPEG Streamclip and convert it to an uncompressed AVI and also make sure that it's deinterlaced (if it needs it) and in the proper aspect ratio. Then I take that uncompressed AVI file and have SUPER encode it. The results are not always so bad if you fiddle with the settings. The one thing I did notice was that the audio drifted just a tiny bit (not something I noticed unless I had people speaking dialog). I suppose this would matter if your video had really precise timing issues. But many music videos don't.

Maybe the step of running it through MPEG Streamclip is unnecessary—it seems to me that SUPER can be picky about what kind of source files it'll take. But maybe it would encode your DV AVI, straight from WMM.

So as I can understand what you guys telling to me the Super is 50/50 bad nor not *sigh* :?, it's ok I guess :roll:

then also it's depends on the program if it accepting other files format too, am I right :? If I'm wrong then I have to read the link you show Minion... well I'm thankful to that bcuz I didn't look deeply in this section forum, instead I'm posting same like it is already been open :)

I will read it again and take it what you've said bcuz I did not yet try this so..... it's not bad at all ^_^
(sorry if I do sounds mean but I'm not :roll: guess it's source of frustration right now >.<" )

I am personally saying that SUPER is a far cry better than exporting an WMV from WMM. Probably the best way to get the most out of your video made with WMM is to follow this guide. But if you want to use a simpler process, just for now, then exporting as a DV/AVI (the instructions on the above linked guide will show you how to do that) and processing it in SUPER is definitely worth considering! :)

You could also just convert your DV AVI file into an MP4 with H.264 codec in MPEG Streamclip ( http://www.squared5.com ). The people on AMV seem very familiar with playing H.264 files, so that shouldn't be a worry for you. And, if you are planning on showing the video elsewhere, just tell them to download VLC Player and they're all set.

converting in super?

just choose your file and then what type of format you want in the dropdown menu, click encode and hey-presto you got your file.

the xvid setting would be under the avi option so

1.Container = Avi
2.Codec = Xvid
