Most of the people in Gaze strip had big homes (2-3 stories privet houses), farms and lands, so the money was an issue, as it didn't fit the way they lived. A parallel house in Tel -Aviv will cost ten times over. While it is possible to find some real estates of the same magnitude and prices about half an hour from TA, rush hour will make you regret being cheap, or make you wake up really early (some guy from work wakes up every day at 6AM in order to get from Jerusalem to TA before the rush. It's a 40 min drive). The rent for a single room apartment in TA is about $500-600, and this sum is more than half of the minimum salary. Problem is, people hold on to their places like leeches. transferring between friends and relatives. An apartment offered on the internet will usually be taken in less than 2 hours. Anyone said survival?Orwell wrote:How much does it cost to live in Irael anyways? I remember watching the news, about how the government in Israel was offering $300,000-400,000, converted into USD I assume, to move out of palenstine and the people there were treating that sum like it was nothing at all.

Currently a networking technician in the Air Force. I plan on getting out in about 18 months. Hopefully by then I will have my AS and a Cisco certification. At this moment, I plan to move to Chicago, get a good networking job, and take college classes on the Montgomery GI Bill. I'm thinking about a CS degree and taking random classes on the side in media design and Japanese for the hell of it.

Since you caught me so fast, I wouldn't have edited it out (at least not the rest of the conversation after my first post about it).
I fins it amusing how often you and I have single-handedly changed this thread's topic.
