Anyone heard of ratDVD?

(at time of writing I couldn't get the official ratdvd.dk site to load)

I saw this today from someone else, and I read a bit through this and... Well, what do you think about it? Does this thing have a possible future? Have you used it before?
Yay for new codecs/technology/whatever the hell this thing could be considered as?

Well, ratDVD has been around for a few years, but I don't know anyone who actually uses it. I never really saw the point of it myself.
So far as amvs go, I don't see any application for this.
