What makes an amv original for you?

A brand new concept (implying song and anime choice or the approach to a combination)

or

Unique editing (as to how it contributes to the video. Using fancy effects no one has used before means nothing if it feels like that they're there just for the sake of being flashy).

An Original AMV consists of footage that hasn't been used a million times, a song that's unique and not overused, a concept that's never been done before, a real message displayed in the merger of the two forms of media...and uber kawaii characters jaming out to some screamo.

If it doesn't use anime + music / other audio, it's original.

A video about stuff I like, since what I like is usually underrated it's good to see other people make vids to minor characters that I also might like. That's original to me, or just creating a totally weirdo concept to put on an anime that has nothing to do with it.(Date Rape comes to mind).

That's all original to me.

Editing, Idea, And also non Overused Songs..ANime not that much (i always hate when people give me low ratings on my DBZ vids caue of Originally <.<). But For some reason I started to rate the Anime aswell..@.@ Even though i dont want to =\ I'm sure those people cursed mee xD

I doubt the low ratings come from just the lack of originality in your DBZ videos.

What makes a video original. I think Otohiko's view on that is pretty good.
