Shouldn't that be the basis for making an amv in general?
of course not XD you should make amvs cause you enjoy it or like to XD

This is the exact problem I have with looking around that site for good videos. I keep getting mislead by the score. I see a video with 4 stars and I think "oh this video should be good" only to find it's a piece of garbage and that the peoples interpretations there are garbage. I use to think that score would actually mean anything, now I don't. Higher percent chance I'll enjoy a random 4 star video here than over there. I've ran into hundreds of videos over at that site that have a 4 stars as it's rating that have divx logos, subtitles, repeated scenes, longwinded clips side by side, very little actual editing, while over here, a video that has had a lot of stars given to it and ends up having a 4 star rating, it ends up never having all of that I just mentioned. Even though you get to watch a video the second it starts downloading, you have a higher chance running into good videos here using filter options for advance searches, top ten list, Recommended AMVs and AMV Announcements. I'm sure there are plenty that would agree with me on that. :?

I certainly don't think anyone's disagreeing with you. I've seen very few vids with like 500 or more ratings and 3.8+ stars here that i didn't keep. There are a some though. The people using the system aren't prefect. As for there, i only have an account to get my stuff taken down the few times anything has popped up there.

lol! well I know that's the primary goal of making an amv, I'm just saying that if you want to make a good amv it's best to be "attentive to detail", and SOME of that other stuff you said (not all). ^-^

well yea if thats what you consider a good amv O.o then that should be your goal... but if you only make amvs to have fun or ammuse yourself then that should be your goal...

though truthfully you should make amvs cause you like to make them, or you enjoy the end result,

not because you want everyone else to like them or because you want praise or highscores... praise and high scores are easy to get if you have enough friends to lie to you XD

I think you misunderstood me, what I meant was that the primary goal should be to have fun and secondary one should put a little effort into the stuff that he/she makes
