Issues with imported .avi files in adobe after effects 7.0

Post by Shinobi34 » Sun Jan 07, 2007 12:28 pm

Ok i tried to import a compressed video file directly in to AE7 it brought in the file without crashing, but it gave me an error "After Effects error: retrieving frame from video stream. (3) (53::34) and it come up every time i try to do anything with the footage. i assumed that it must have been a codec issue so i uncompressed the file using virtual dub and now i dont get the error anymore, but now it just show all black. does any one have any suggestions on how i can fix this problem?

Maybe you did something wrong with the uncompressed clip, but you are on the right way because uncompressed footage is good footage to work with.
Try this codec:
http://lags.leetcode.net/codec.html
Lagarith is also a loseless, should work in any Adobe software and has a not as high filsize as other loseless codecs.
Let the codecs settings in VDM for Lagarith as they are and the codec will work best. There isn´t really something to make wrong.
