How the AMV/Video editing hobby can enhance your social life?
It can? It's destroyed mine :/
It actually trades your real social life for a fantasy social life which is better than the real one.

... yeah, well lets see, as my post said before, i started long ago... it was fall of 1997, dbz amvs were awsome... so i decided to try my hand at that with 2 vcrs... made my first amv on computer in 2000... went to my first con in 2003... AWA is the best con to go to for amv editors, and Acen is a close second... but yeah, just have fun with what you do. If people dont like your videos, find some people who do... *like me, people here hate my amvs, so i whore them on youstube and people watch and enjoy them...*
your videos dont have to be good, they dont have to be loved, as long as you enjoy editing and making amvs, it dosnt matter what people say cause atleast 1 person out there will love your videos, and isnt that enough?

Me'thinks AWA = Anime Weekend Atlanta? If so, how did it become so big as...versus...well, any other place?

( also, off topic ) Here's now weird I was w/ AMV's when I was in HS. I was always so bored and wanting to make new videos I actually had a large group of people pit myself and another AMV maker againt eachother

The song ( *grimace* ) was 'Rollin' and the anime was DBZ only because that was what I had most access too atm. We had 2 weeks and then a winner was to be judged from between us both out of our friends.

I lost the first trial but made another in my spare time afterwards and it was very good ( for the song at least ). I lost but I still wanted to get better, to "get over that hurdle" so-to-speak and ... well, yea, make something badass

: D I'd love to do an AMV-Off with anybody!

We have a more-famous similar thing called Iron Chef / Iron Editor, where you edit something in two hours. It takes place at most cons now with an AMV contest, and there's also a few going on online.

As for AWA, yes it is Anime Weekend Atlanta. It just got big because of it's reputation, I guess? It got to be the AMV con because the VAT staff knows what it's doing, are very competent, and treat the editors well. XDD

:D Mwahah, awsomeness!

AMV THROW DOWN

I am generally amused by the idea of anything and altough I havent made a comedy video since my "Nadesico + 'Girls All Around The World' vid ( which feattured danceing waitresses, a feat my friend Iris still points out is missing from every video I have ever made since then if they even be included or not? ) I actually think I have a better eye for comedy than drama ... or not, mebbe it just depends on my mood or style-choices at the time.

For me its going on six years and I love it. As for getting you "laid" heh heh, well that's a matter of opinion. lol

All though I can tell you I've had countless marriage proposals over the years. lol

Yet, I like what I do too and is it expensive? Definately. Can it help your career? Yes, if you choose film, digital editing or even web design.

In fact a creator I know is currently studying film/video editing is an amv creator has been for 4 years and shot two commercials down in Florida.

So there's definately a future from doing it. At least I think.

Later. Off to work now.
