Astroboy :D / OC remix

Post by Phantasmagoriat » Sun Jan 07, 2007 1:20 am

If you've never heard of oc remix: people take video game music and remix it in a new way. So I thought it would be neat to have an amv where the audio and video were both 'created'. I was even lucky enough to have the song creator 'Big Giant Circles' give permission to use the song [thanks again ]

Well, I've delayed uploading a new video for multiple reasons, mostly because for the past while [7 months? :\] i've just been 'playing' with the amv process. As such, I'd like to think i've learned a lot in my time spent here [<1yr]

This will be my first amv made entirely in MAGIX MEP10, yes, even the intro... which was fun to do [actually, I was having a hard time with the title, so I based 'Don't Blink Astro' on this little segment I created :) ] and I wouldn't mind hearing some feedback on that.

I had a lot of issues with this amv, since it was my first time using avisynth, but it may be due to the old source footage. It really looked quite terrible beforehand, and I'd like to think I did a good enough job to clean it up.

Lastly, the pace of the video was intentionally set quite fast... but this is kind of like my tribute to Astroboy, so I wanted to stuff as much astroboy footage into it as possible.

I will be working tommorrow, so I may not respond for a day or so, but till then drop a line or something... I'd like to hear any criticisms/comments you may have.

Cool video, it's nice to see Astroboy being used. Seems like the overlays may have been a little overdone, but definitely a fun video nonetheless. Nice improvement from your last video as well :)

Thanks Reigna, lack of Astroboy amv's is probably due to its age... then I thought: wouldn't it be awsome to make something so old look nice and fancy/flashy?

I kind of intended to throw a lot of information at the viewer in a short time... so is it overdone... i don't know. What do others think?

Also, its always nice to hear that I've improved :)
