have people beta your work and tell you what they think needs to be improved...

If you want hits on Youtube then do the most common ideas you can think of and do them with minimal effort.

if you want hits on the tube site, then refresh the page a million times :/

if you want downloads from here you gotta pimp it out..

but the best way to "pimp it out" is to make good videos that people will want to share. O.o

if you want to make GOOD AMVs my first suggestion is to download and watch alot of AMVs... watch random ones and decide which ones you think are good, and decide which are bad... and try to follow the teachings of the good ones, and look at what the bad ones do and try to avoid that at all costs.... because if you know what is good and bad to you... then you can decide how to make your videos good... I'd suggest you do this BEFORE editing or trying to edit, it will help to make your AMVs alot better.

the first place to start is probably paying attention to your quality
checking stuff like:

1. does the footage have subtitles? and how can i remove them? your best bet right now is to use DVD footage and avoid using downloaded footage... (its against the site rules to ask where to find downloaded footage anyways so dont ask, all you will get is a whole bunch of snyde remarks) and dont use video with credits on it >.< it just looks bad (no matter what the language)

2. do i have the right aspect ratio? is this video supposed to be widescreen or full screen, am i mixing more than one ratio? is my widescreen being streatched to full screen?

3. does my audio crackle? does it pop or bitrate or sound tinny? does it sound like i stuck a speaker in a soup can? is my audio compressed? the best source for audio is off of a CD.

4. are there alot of video distortions in my footage? particles? macroblocking? how do i get rid of them? (one of the best ways to get rid of distortions is to use a cleaner source)

and here are some "artistic issues" rather than "quality issues"

1. this one can make/break a video for me... do my clips drag on too long? try to keep your clips short... not necessairly strobing, the key to a good music video is to listen to the music and edit what the music dictates... (i wont usually let my clips run longer than one phrase in the lyrics... lately ive been breaking it down to atleast 3 clips per phrase if not more, depending on the timing of the song)

2. lyric sync. is it too much or too cheezy? is it completely literal? does it kill the mood of my song? sometimes lyric sync can kill the mood of a song so its a very tricky thing to mess with... some times people will get mad if you dont lyric sync enough... syncing to the mood will NEVER get complaints though...

3. mood sync, does my video portray the mood i desire? or does it come off as not really fitting quite right?

4. lipsync isnt always your friend. be careful with it. but dont let a character's mouth run too long... lipflap can be distracting.... lipflap does not equal lipsync, just cause the mouth is running that doesnt mean its synced to the singer...
