I work for the Feds (hence my username: Bun of 'Government'), desk job, I use computers at work for mostly word processing.

I got into AMVs when my nephew showed me a certain Trigun vid back in 2004. That's when I bought my laptop. I've been watching anime for more years than I can remember.
Beowulf wrote:... Is your profession in any way connected to your knowledge of AMVs? Or are you a marine biologist (why is everyone a damn marine biologist!)?
I wanted to be a marine biologist after I started watching Marine Boy. *sighs*
"Didn't I say something clever earlier?"
"Dunno, I was probably asleep when you said it."

I am the token lower-class drudge in any situation. Whee!

I would be an administrative assistant, but they decided that that title was too high-status for me (no, seriously). So I am a "Clerical." No noun. I am an adjective. I book field trips and do paperwork-type things for one of the behind-the-scenes departments of a botanical garden.

Used to be a church organist on the side, but the church closed for lack of attendance, and I decided I wanted my weekends back more than I wanted a second job. Hey, I never said I was actually religious.

Studied general biology in undergrad; never got into veterinary school or grad school because I be teh stupids. :D

No talent or training in music or video. And it shows. But then, I do origami as a hobby too, and I never studied that in school either.

Nothing glamorous... I'm assistant Seafood manager in a shitty supermarket... but I'll likely be promoted to Manager in the coming weeks... wow... I may make some money

Seafood. Food used to be alive.

Another marine biologist. :O

I'm a student who might be getting a copyediting part-time job at the local newspaper. I've not given up my marine biologist (okay, cetatiologist or whatever it is who study dolphins and whales and stuff) dreams but they're unlikely to actually work out.

Since I fail at getting into grad school (I graduated summa cum laude from the best cheap state school in NJ (that's TCNJ, not Rutgers, fools), WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT??), I'm working as an actuarial associate in individual life insurance at a big insurance company.

I made the mistake of not having any more interviews lined up when I went in for this one, so I found myself taking the job because I was in no position to say no.

Since my life is governed by inertia, I'll probably be at the same company 10+ years from now. Though hopefully by then I'll have some actuarial exams under my belt. Or a graduate degree. Or some computer-related certifications.

It would help, of course, if I had any idea which of those I really wanted.

Also, since getting a full-time job, I have completely failed at setting aside enough time for any semi-productive hobbies, including AMVs.

I am currently in high school, but I still feel that my occupation is better (prestige wise) than my classmates. I am a webmaster for a local newspaper, as well as a columnist and typing lacky. As for future plans, I plan on majoring in secondary education and teaching high school mathematics. I hit college next year!

Currently, I am a graphic artist for a local magazine, but have also done product design, been a marketing director as well as researching patient education devices for pharmaceutical companies on the East coast.

I freelance as a muralist, do some video editing for weddings and the such (which is how I got into AMVs), design t-shirts and illustration.

I'm also a mom (which is more demanding than any of the other 'jobs' I have ).

I was getting my degree in Graphic Arts with a minor in Russian. Decided to live in Finland for a while instead of finishing my degree, but it all seems to have worked out. I only need about 1 1/2 more years to finish... ^_^;;

Um,i was a sous-chef for 3 years ....landscaping for a bit ... now i'm in a volunteer program traveling across canada. Working for a film company now, so it kind of relates to video stuff.
I'd post my hobbies but then i wouldn't be able to post my next thread :)

That + working part-time as a computer programmer. It's kinda neat alternating between media classes (hello, right brain) and CS classes (hello, nerds!).
