I have my own bar to legitimize being here. I mean, come on, how often am I here in the forums shooting the shit? And how little do I produce? I set the bar to legitimize my own presence here and think it's a good personal motivational tool.

Well I didn't understand what you just said.

I used to feel that way for a while, about not being able to 'impress' anyone.

But I recently made a short AMV just for fun, and was surprised by the positive feedback from it - I really enjoyed making it, and that kinda reassured me. I don't pay attention to that bar, but I've learned a little bit from it.

Either way, I'm out of my 'block', and I'm having fun editing again :)

I've always felt there are actually three bars that are important for the org.

The first bar is a simple one, 'does the idea amuse me enough to actually make the video?' Depending on my mood this bar can be trivial to jump or it can be damned near impossible.

The second bar is the 'how crude can I be without getting banned' bar. The bar is a lot lower than I would ever have expected when I started this hobby. Perhaps I shouldn't say that on the forums or else the mods might try raising the bar.

The third bar is the long metal on that I use to beat the ever loving crap out of naruto amv creators. It's long, thick, and works best when the bar is raised and lowered very quickly on their skulls. I would worry about admiting this on the forums when it could be used against me in a court of law but awhile ago I realized everyone assumes I'm joking right up to the point where their blood splatters make rorschach patterns on the walls.

Cirque du Soleil's Mystère features an aerial high-bar routine, which lasts approximately 7 minutes. The accompanyng music, which is probably more relevant to AMVs, is titled "High Bar", and was composed by Benoît Jutras.

It's a cool routine, and the music isn't bad either. Check it out. I'd like to see an AMV using it...

See the truth in the face.

Naruto and Bleach are the most popular Animes at time... You see the Seeds and Clients in a Tracker? when a new episode is out? 49xxx Seeds in the hightime.... OMG!!!

And dont forget, here in europe its hard to get the hands on DVD or near kind quali animeformat... So the most would use, some RAWs or subbed scenes...

and now i get the point. Thxs for talking about that. :)

The only bar I know of kicked me out for not having a fake ID.

According to my QC's I seem to be lowering it :P
I would say that at least video sets a low bar and anything else can only be better. However saying that would be like saying 'hey, at least I'm employeed'. As soon as you say it you know that tommorow your workplace will catch fire and burn to the ground. After an investigation it will be determined the fire was started by your fucking crazy co-worker who set a chicken on fire and let it run around the place because homemade fried chicken sounded like a good lunch to him. So no, I refuse to say you've set a low bar for the org. I'm scared shitless that if I do people will suddenly decide to go so much lower than this that I think they're just using your bar as a limbo stick.

Well, a couple of months ago, before I even got really involved with the org, (I made an account but it sat here for months), I was producing amvs on other websites like there was no tomorrow. However, now when I look on the org and see all of these fancy amvs and look at my prior work, I feel like crap, and thus, all of my inspiration has gone out the window. Now, I'm struggling to even get an amv together because the sheer competition factor has gotten to me, and well...I just hate having to use WMM when everyone else is pretty much using vegas or premiere and I just lose my motivation to create. I do make amvs for fun, but I also try to make something that will appeal to the public, and make them rise up and try to do something like what I created, but when the competition is high, it's hard to inspire yourself, let along others.
