About the blindness, maybe Faded by Default.

Homework, well, Caroline's Spine has a funny song called "The Work Song" which is really about a dead end office job, but it might be funny for a homework type situation.

'Blinded' by Hannah. It's a techno sort of song. I used to listen to it a lot whilst writing about my blind character.

For anime, there are a couple of episodes of Glass Mask (Garasu no Kamen) that might work for you. Maya prepares for a role as Helen Keller by living in an empty house for the summer with her eyes bandaged and her ears plugged.

I'd recommend the 2005 version of the anime.
