an amv in another language.
this one song is perfect lyricly for the video theme, but the song not being in english makes it harder to make the point. anyt suggestions on how this could be done better?

I think this polarizes the AMV: it will either really sinkusa mimi productions wrote:this one song is perfect lyricly for the video theme, but the song not being in english makes it harder to make the point. anyt suggestions on how this could be done better?
a bad AMV because if the visuals aren't good the song
will not help much, or it will improve upon it because
even though people won't understand what is being
said you'll be successful in conveying the meaning
of the song which is in itself an achievement. To me
there's always been little "middle ground" with
regards to AMVs which use lyrics I do not understand.
You can't worry about that, though, just do your best.

theres two things you can do
1. make it anyways
or 2. make it anyways and subtitle the song so people know what the words are...
lots of people make videos in other languages... I've made two that are in japanese O.o

Isn't that terribly distracting, though? I think it'sJaddziaDax wrote:2. make it anyways and subtitle the song so people know what the words are...
much more laudable if the creator manages to
express the sentiments in the song visually.
In fact, it's always seemed to me that any onscreen
text is a crutch...
(As much as I admire MADs they have this infuriating
tendency [for me] to cram their vids with blurbs)

music is a universal language. you can match the video to the music itself rather than just the words. that way both nonspeakers and speakers of the language will enjoy it.

that's what i thought, then i saw mike's video no one knows what its likeand i'm no longer sure. it depends on how the titles are done, if you can make them look good and fit them in with the video then it'd be good, but also if its a fast paced song, and the clips are the same, then titles will most deffinently be distracting lolshumira_chan wrote:Isn't that terribly distracting, though?
