Yeah...I have imtoo dvd ripper platinum 4.0 and it rips other clips sorta okay of course there are errors once in awhile when the whole clip is on slow motion for some odd reason. I usually rip at mpeg1 or divx.
But now I tried to rip my dvd vob files to mpeg2 and its laggy. My friend says its because my processor can't handle it.
CPU SPECS:
2.5 GHZ
Celeron Processor
1.5 GB DDR RAM
40GB
So, any ideas on the problem? I'm doing video editing btw and if it is because of the cpu, what should I aim for in cpu specs. Thanks
Please help me...I'll really appreciate this..thank you beforehand.

it could be a few different things, but I would not suggest ripping and saving with a lossy codec (like divx, or to mpeg2 for that matter)
your friend is probably right, your cpu isn't meant for extremely demanding tasks (like video editing)
IIRC, celeron D (or celeron M) was made to compete with AMD athlon 64
(they hoped that lower cost, rather than performance, would attract customers).
HOWEVER, you can still edit with your cpu.
also, what do you mean by laggy? is the program slower or do your files not playback at realtime?
both are probably because of the ammount of information being processed (1 episode from a dvd is ~1GB) is more than "other files"
if you upgrade anything, you should consider getting another hard drive

no, another hard drive as in a new hard drive
more storage (you can edit with 40GB, but more space means you can have more clips of better quality)
